2014 Ready Set Mentor!

2014 Ready Set Mentor!

What an awesome event. I had the opportunity to be the program manager and facilitator for the SpeedMentoring program. The energy and enthusiasm in the room was a testament to the program. Mentoring is so very important to the emerging professionals coming into our field. Being able to give them an opportunity to find a mentor, to feel welcomed, to feel accepted, and have future discussions with those in our field is a differentiator of ISPI. Well, what other organization does that?

Roundtable Presentations at THE Conference

Roundtable Presentations at THE Conference

Yes, they are a digestive and intellectual duo of every ISPI conference. With names like “Cracker Barrel,” “Lunch-n-Learn,” “Bagel Barrel,” and even “Chat-n-Chew,” ISPI conferences are known for their General Sessions where eating and learning go together like milk and cookies! Roundtables are an excellent way for participants to invest just 20 minutes, at three different tables of choice, and walk away with a functional understanding of a model, approach, concept, or tool that they can really use tomorrow. Attendees are invited to grab a complimentary sandwich and select a table.

Thus, a salon was constructed just for this purpose.

At THE Performance Improvement Conference, the Chapter Partnership Committee presents the Chapter Leaders Workshop (CLW). This year, we will hold the workshop Sunday, April 13, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This event is free and open to all chapter leaders. Our intent is to have at least one representative from each chapter attend the workshop. Chapter leaders will report back to their boards by summarizing the experience, sharing print materials, and discussing implications for their chapters.

Why Attend THE Performance Improvement Conference?

Why Attend THE Performance Improvement Conference?

Eileen Banchoff wrote a great article last month about attending the conference in which she touched on some excellent points; you should check it out if you have not read it already. These articles come across my desk first, and this is one article I was super-excited to share. Had Eileen not sat through that “one more” educational session and received the Kicks and Whacks she spoke of, then she would still be on the same path and not seen things from a different perspective.
