Sometimes as a first-time attendee to a conference, you may feel a little awkward and slightly out of place. However, the format, size, and genuinely welcoming atmosphere of the conference made it a lot less intimidating to make connections.

2014 Ready Set Mentor!

2014 Ready Set Mentor!

What an awesome event. I had the opportunity to be the program manager and facilitator for the SpeedMentoring program. The energy and enthusiasm in the room was a testament to the program. Mentoring is so very important to the emerging professionals coming into our field. Being able to give them an opportunity to find a mentor, to feel welcomed, to feel accepted, and have future discussions with those in our field is a differentiator of ISPI. Well, what other organization does that?

The conference opened to the general members on Monday; however, we were busy all weekend! Becky Holden attended the CPT workshop, Lisa Lange went to the Principles and Practices of Performance Improvement workshop, and I delivered a Fundamentals of Performance presentation for ISPI leaders to get the word out about performance technology.

Why Attend THE Performance Improvement Conference?

These articles come across my desk first, and this is one article I was super-excited to share. Had Eileen not sat through that “one more” educational session and received the Kicks and Whacks she spoke of, then she would still be on the same path and not seen things from a different perspective.
