ISPI’s Chapter Network could be growing by four. Recently ISPI has received several inquiries about starting chapters from all over the globe. Korea hopes to have the chapter started in conjunction with their Second Annual HPT Seminar. They are very excited about this opportunity and will continue to work with ISPI staff to see this chapter to fruition.

In the Middle East, they have some challenges to overcome, including the fact the prevailing regional mindset is not overly familiar with performance improvement (they tend to focus mostly on training solutions). Also, in order to establish a society chapter in Saudi Arabia, they need Government approvals, but hope to overcome this by partnering with ISPI. On the positive side, they have the first draft of the chapter Vision, Mission, Targeted Clients & Strategy. They also have Board members from Saudi Arabia (Eastern Province, Central and Western Province), Turkey, Lebanon, and Oman (North Africa = Tunisia & Egypt). An ISPI Chapter in the Middle East could be the right thing, at the right time to meet these needs.

In New Orleans, LA, there is a group of longtime ISPI members revved up about starting a chapter in the Big Easy. They are meeting throughout the summer and hope to have their first chapter meeting in January 2014.

Lastly, and particularly exciting, is New York, NY because we have not had interest in starting a chapter in the Big Apple for several years.

Also, keep your eyes and ears open for a new virtual chapter in Western Canada, Montreal, ON, CA and Cincinnati, OH. ISPI staff, Board, and volunteers will continue to support and promote these endeavors.

Do you want information on starting a chapter? Want to get involved in some of the efforts listed above? If so, please contact staff liaison for Chapters, Robin Stimson at robins@ispi.org or at chapters@ispi.org. We wish these start-ups well and look forward to celebrating their inaugural events.
