ISPI Collaborate is our newest member resource, an interactive forum where members can engage and learn. Collaborate has a wealth of information and the tools below will give you the knowledge to navigate it with ease. With this basic knowledge, you will be able to master the site and take advantage of all it has to offer.
Here is the homepage to community.ispi.org. The homepage is split into 10 sections: Quick Links, Recent Blogs, Find Us On, Announcements, Getting Started, Popular Search Terms, Recently Shared Files, Latest Discussions, Upcoming Events, and Most Active Members.
Prior to logging in, the homepage looks the same for everyone. Once you log in, this will change depending on discussions and groups you have joined.
Logging in to the site is quite simple. You can either use the login link at the top right hand corner or the login hyperlink under the “Getting Started” section.
You will then be redirected to the MyISPI page where you will be promoted to log in.
After logging in, you will be directed back to the homepage, where you will see the most up-to-date discussions happening in your groups.
You will also see your profile tag on the top right-hand side of the page. From there you can update your profile.
Updating your profile will help Collaborate suggest groups and discussions for you to join. Please note, some discussions and groups are invitation only, so filling out your profile will help leaders of those groups extend invitations for you to join.
Select “Edit Contact Information” on the right-hand side of your profile picture.
A new window will open that will show your contact information, which is already populated. Scroll down to add the information to your profile. Abe’s profile is selected as an example.
Hit “Save” at the top right-hand corner.
Because the browser does not close automatically, a confirmation will be displayed below the “Save” button.
Close the browser and return to the Collaborate page. To refresh the page and display your updates, hit “Refresh Member Information.”
Now that your profile is populated with that information, you will automatically become a member of any groups that match your selected interests. Your profile will now look something like this:
Now you are ready to begin making connections and joining conversations. You can do so by either selecting “My Networks” under “My Profile” on the left-hand side of the page or by using the drop-down menu.
To view other open groups, click on “My Communities.” This will take you to the communities page. If there is an open group that you have not joined, there will be a green join button that you can select to become a member if you are interested.
Now that you have filled out your profile, you can connect to like-minded performance improvement professionals. Select “My Network” from the drop-down menu at the top of the page or under “My Profile.” This will direct you to your network.
Below is Abe’s network based on what he has put in his profile.
You are now armed with the basic knowledge of ISPI Collaborate and can begin using this tool to build your network, join a conversation, and much more! Collaborate is a vast site and more tutorials like this will become available for our members. But most important, we invite you to visit the website and get acclimated.
