When is the conference?
THE Performance Improvement Conference is April 18-23. Pre-conference workshops run April 18-20, while conference programming runs April 20-23.

Where is the conference?
The conference is taking place at the Sheraton Centre Toronto in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

How do I register for the conference?
Visit the online conference registration page to register online. You can also register for any pre-conference workshops while registering online.

Are the pre-conference workshops included in my conference registration?
No, all pre-conference workshops, including the CPT Certification Workshop, the Principles and Practices of HPT Institute, and all other one- and two-day workshops have a separate registration fee. You can register just for one or two pre-conference workshops, or you can register for both the conference and one or two pre-conference workshops at the same time.

How do I register for pre-conference activities if I am not registering for the conference?
Registration for any of these workshops can be completed through the online conference registration, even if you are not registering for the conference. Additionally, pre-conference workshop registration can be completed using the downloadable registration form by mailing, faxing, or emailing the completed form. Or register by phone at 301-587-8570.

What is the dress code?
The conference dress code is business casual. Please dress comfortably.

What if I have special diet needs?
If you have special diet needs for the awards luncheon, please email with your dietary requests. Also, special dietary restrictions can be submitted during the conference registration process if you register online.

Getting There

Do I need a passport to enter Canada?
YES! All non-residents are required to have a valid passport and also may need a visa to enter Canada (including U.S. citizens). U.S. citizens can renew and find out how to get a passport from the Department of State at  Additionally, expedited services can make sure you receive your passport quickly, a perfect option if time is running short. Is there an airport shuttle that can take me to the hotel?
Yes. Transportation from Pearson International Airport to the hotel runs every 30 minutes from 5:20 am until 12:50 am; transportation from the hotel to Pearson Airport runs every 30 minutes from 4:25 am until 10:55 pm. Shuttle service is provided by Toronto Airport Express. Tickets cost about $24 CAD one-way or about $40 round-trip and can be purchased from the hotel’s tour desk or with the driver.  You can also book your shuttle in advance through the hotel’s reservation portal or call 905-564-3232 or 800-387-6787.

How much is a cab ride from the airport to the hotel?
A cab ride from the airport to the hotel is approximately $60 CAD each way, with price increases based on the number of riders and bags. Reserving a cab in advance is possible by contacting one of the many taxi services in the area.

Is there parking at the hotel?
Yes, parking is $45 CAD per night. Conference attendees not staying at the hotel also can park for $45 for the full day. Additionally, there are a number of parking lots within walking distance of the hotel with hourly rates.

When is check-in and check-out?
Hotel check-in is 3 p.m. and hotel check-out is at noon.

Are there group rates for rooms?
Yes, ISPI conference attendees can reserve a room at the group rate of $209 CAD per night using the group code: ISPI11. The rate is valid three days prior and three days after the event, and is available until March 13 (or until all the blocked rooms are reserved).

Is there Internet access at the hotel?
The hotel has High Speed Data Access in all guest rooms, with three packages to choose from (all prices are in CAD):

  • Daily Internet Package: $14.95/24-hour period
  • Daily Internet+Roaming in public areas, wireless: $19.95/24-hour period
  • Premium (Increased) Bandwidth daily package in room + Roaming in public areas, wireless: $21.95 24-hour period

Additionally, wireless is available in all public areas, restaurants, and pool area for a fee of $6 for each 30-minute period. Link at Sheraton and the Link Café are available for all hotel guests to use complimentary Internet access for one hour.
